St John’s College is a world-class Christian, African school founded in 1898. The school accepts boys from Grade 0 to Grade 12 into the Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory and the College, and accepts boys and girls in The Bridge Nursery School and Sixth Form.
St John’s numbers among South Africa’s pre-eminent schools, with a reputation for excellence extending well beyond the country’s borders.
Based in Houghton, Johannesburg, St John’s follows the rich traditions of the Anglican Church. Teaching is based on sound values and morals and the Anglican ethos of respect and care, while also celebrating the traditions of other faith communities to encourage mutual understanding and tolerance.

Welcomubg our new boys to the College
St John’s College welcomed its new boys and their families at the New Boys’ Induction Service held in the Memorial Chapel, marketing the beginning of an exciting new chapter for all the boys joining the College.
Community Mass: A great start to the year
St John’s College commenced the year with the annual Community Mass on Burger Field, framed by the iconic northern facade of the school. The Right Revd Dr Steve Moreo, Bishop of Johannesburg, presided as Celebrant, continuing a much-loved tradition that sets the tone for the academic year.

As an Old Johannian who matriculated from Clayton House in 2001, I take immense pride in the ongoing academic brilliance of St John’s College. Over the years, the College has cemented its reputation as a beacon of excellence, not just among boys' schools but also in comparison to top-performing girls' schools across South Africa.
