On the edge of Burger Field, just under the Owen Nkumane Terrace, there is a small cleft carved out of the hillside, and in the middle of this stands an old, stone fountain. Until recently, the fountain was dry and faint markings were etched into the stone wall around it.

We are saddened to pay tribute to Old Johannian Ian von Memerty (Sixth Form | Clarke 1982), one of South Africa's most celebrated performers, who spent two years with us in the Sixth Form in 1981 and 1982.
