The Sixth Form Prize-Giving and Valedictory Service took place on 23 September 2025, welcoming parents and staff to celebrate the achievements of our Lower and Upper Six students. The occasion reflected the dedication and camaraderie that define the Sixth Form community.
We were honoured to welcome Ms Tina Playne (Sixth Form | Clarke 1986), Chair of the Council of St John's College, who addressed the students with words of wisdom as they prepare to take their next steps beyond the College. Her message captured the essence of the St John's journey, one of integrity and purpose.
This year's service provided a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr Stuart West, Executive Headmaster, Mr Lester Lalla, Preparatory Headmaster, Mrs Jane Lane, Pre-Preparatory Headmistress, Mr Jeremy Naidoo, Chemistry teacher, and Mrs Janet Baylis, Drama teacher, who will be leaving at the end of the year. Each of these remarkable teachers has made a lasting contribution to the life of the Sixth Form, leaving a legacy of mentorship and care.
During the ceremony, the Sixth Form Prefects for 2026 were also announced and inducted:
- Head of House: Litha Tuku
- Deputy Head of House: Lila van Reenen
- Head of Women's Forum: Lienka Colyn
- Deputy Head of Women's Forum: Caitlyn Stuart
- Head of Student Affairs: Finn Li
- Head of Boarding: Lileko Chinyata
The service concluded on a poignant note as Mr Stuart West formally inducted the Upper Six students into the Old Johannian Association, welcoming them to the worldwide network of Old Johannians, a community united by shared values and memories.
