The Tutu Memorial Walk, in honour of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, took place on Sunday, 12 October, as the Johannian community took a 7km pilgrimage through the streets of Johannesburg.
The Rene England Auditorium came alive on Tuesday, 7 October, with music, laughter, and reflection as guests gathered for a Heart-to-Heart Conversation over dinner: an evening dedicated to asking what it truly means to be South African today.
The 21st St John's College Basketball Tournament, brought to you by Standard Bank, Southern Africa's largest boys' school basketball tournament, takes place from 19 to 22 February 2026 and offers various sponsorship packages that provide brands with high visibility and engagement with young athletes, families, and the basketball community.

St John's College hosted its first-ever Battle of the Bands on Saturday, 20 September 2025, bringing together talented young musicians from schools across Johannesburg for an afternoon and evening of contemporary music, giving the audience the chance to see tomorrow’s music legends live on stage today!
This October, the St John’s College community will once again come together for Habits of the Heart V, a series of events celebrating the life and legacy of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
On the evenings of 9 and 10 July, 160 voices of the Chapel Choir, supported by an orchestra of 19 players, raised the roof with Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria.
St John’s College presents the Battle of the Bands — the inaugural Prep and College Contemporary Live Music Competition. Featuring five Prep bands, five College bands, and three special guest performances, this promises to be an exciting showcase of live contemporary music.
The Odgers Cup football match between our Servest Ground Staff XI and the Prep School Staff XI provided an afternoon filled with spirit and community on Friday, 1 August.
